Nancy said is was a lot of work . . .

Nancy and Maryta with others have been organizing and running the annual Brunch and Auction during Louisville for the rescue.  It is our largest event of the year and we try to raise funds to support the operating budget.  They have done a great job.  This year they have turned the reins over to a new committee and I have been more involved than usual.

I will have to say I have been putting in days at my office at home.  Thank god I worked myself out of another part time job in early June otherwise this would not happen.  Judy Lowry our new committee chair divided and conquered putting several people to work on different areas.  The committee made some changes for 2016 and hopefully it will be success.  Tuffy Owens is the master of ceremonies and Kathy Weems other than organizing the layout of the auction is working with the hotel to make sure the people at the tables are the closest proximity to the stage and sound system.  It should all work.  The auction tables will be set up earlier and people can come by the day before and take a look at what we have.  We plan to have printed lists of items for people to take with them.  Did I say Judy added a limited Live Auction as well.  She did and it should be fun.  Tuffy is going to run that.  So this year to be more organized at the registration table we designed new brunch tickets that will be issued to all purchasers.  Your auction number for both the silent auction and live auction will be pre assigned with your tickets.  I came up with an original design so that the number card that you keep for the Live Auction is large enough to see.  Thank you Staples for the support to get that done.

Talk about auction items they are great.  Two stud fee services this year to Nutcracker's Nirvana and to Callaway's Bluesman who will not be offered to the public in 2017.  How about a tour of the farm and visit with the Triple Crown winner for a group up to 8?  Melissa Moore donating time to work with you and your horse. Camp and riding lessons from WingSwept Farm fro 2017.  Also a camp offer at Kierson Farm for 2017.  Also to be in the auction solid 14 k gold custom ASB cuff links.  Okay you Bear fans Northern Trust has donated 4 places in their sky box with all the extras for the Christmas Eve game this year.  What an opportunity! Then there are items donated by Harley Davidson, Walsch Harness, Winners Circle and more.  It is best to get your tickets to attend but we will have options for some to bid remotely you just need to let us know.  The easiest and best way to immediatley contact is is through the This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. We have also worked on better marketing the event through magazine ads, an ad in the Louisville show program and better use of social media.  Hope to see you there.  Oh by the way the Brunch is at the Crowne PLaza Louisville on Thursday August 25th ay 11 am.  Also if I have time I will start adding pictures of auction items on this website under the Brunch and Auction tab.
